>> in motion Schools
An in motion school is one that values and supports the benefits of physical activity and ensures that it is avisible priority in the daily life of the school.

An in motion school is committed to the goal of providing a minimum of 30 minutes of physical activity every day for every student. This can be achieved through any combination of physical education classes, physical activity breaks, facilitated recess, before and after school activities, intramurals, sports programs and special events. Saskatchewan in motion encourages schools to look beyond the traditional choices for physical activity throughout the school day. Many opportunities exist where physical activity can be incorporated and used as a tool to enhance student learning and foster positive physical activity experiences for every student.

Saskatchewan in motion recognizes the valuable role that physical education programs play in offering children and youth the knowledge, skills, attitudes and experiences they will need to be active for a lifetime. Saskatchewan in motion seeks to support physical education and in addition encourage teachers to offer physical activity experiences to their students that can build on and enhance what they have learned in their physical education classes. Saskatchewan in motion can be a catalyst for Quality Daily Physical Education programs and recognizes that “without quality instruction, students may not reach their full potential, and may fail to develop the competencies necessary to achieve success and enjoyment in a variety of physical activities”. 1
